Autism Education Trust - Developing Play in Early Years-2 hours

Aims and objectives:

Understand that autism is a DIFFERENCE not a DEFICIT.
Understand how the three areas of difference in autism impact on the development of play skills.
Understand the importance of all adults working together to support the child to develop play skills.
Develop knowledge of how to support autistic children to develop play skills.
Create and deliver a plan to ensure progress in play skills,  which includes consideration of how to remove barriers and make reasonable adjustments. 

 

Autism education Trust- Developing Toileting in the Early Years - 2 hours

After Completing this module, delegates will:

Understand how autism can impact on children developing independent toileting skills.
Understand the importance of all adults working together to support the development of independent toileting skills. 
Consider how to remove barriers to developing toileting skills and how to make reasonable adjustments to support further toileting independence.
 
 
National Autistic Society-Autism & SPELL-12 hour training

The course aims to provide an understanding of how the SPELL Framework can support individual autistic CYP in mainstream schools with a focus throughout on creating a SPELL profile. This is constructed by exploring the CYP’s unique profile and considering how to adapt strategies to support.

WTT Supporting a Profile of Demand Avoidance

To enable participants extend their knowledge and understanding of the different profiles of demand avoidance, and to further explore the nature of support necessary in a learning environment

To understand the impact of (P)DA on a CYP’s capacity to access school and engage with learning

To explore a supportive ‘approach’ model when teaching a Child/Young Person with a DA profile
 
 
WTT Supporting Transitions from Year 5 /6 to year 7
  • To explore the key issues relating to the transition of autistic children from primary to secondary school

  • To reflect on the need to increase independence and resilience -in readiness for secondary school expectations

  • To ensure all support reflects the individual child's voice

  • To encourage collaborative working between all settings, parents/carers and young people in this process
