What is the SPELL Approach? 

This is the National Autistic Society's framework for understanding and supporting children and adults on the autism spectrum.

SPELL stands for Structure, Positive, Empathy, Low Arousal and Links

These 5 principles have been identified as essential elements of best practice in autism.

The focus being on how to adapt the environment and our own approaches in supporting the specific needs of autistic young people.
